The Sabres fell 4-3 to the Penguins yesterday but we’ve got a couple of new entries that will soon be added to King of the Hill: Sabres Edition.
SAVE OF THE YEAR
Ryan Miller on Pittsburgh’s James Neal (2/17/13)
You know it’s a great save when the shooter comes away from it shaking his head and laughing. Bonus points for keeping Neal one goal behind Thomas Vanek for tops in the league.
BEST “I FEEL OK AFTER THAT LOSS” OF THE YEAR
Penguins 4, Sabres 3 (2/17/13 at First Niagara Center)
Wouldn’t expect everyone to agree on this but it’s the opinion of Trending Buffalo that more good than bad came out of yesterday’s game and the weekend in general. 1/3 of the way through this shortened regular season, some of what’s been driving us nuts (Myers, trying to score without Vanek on the ice, lack of passion/intensity) seems to be clearing up.
@TrendingBuffalo @jeremywgr “sure… Lets trade Miller”, said everyone that doesn’t know what a real goaltender looks like.
@BradRiter Neal didn’t get all of that shot, not even close-therefore not a hard save to make
@BradRiter Not the save of the year. Neal partially fanned on the shot
@TrendingBuffalo @jeremywgr that looked routine. Nothing special
