Prior Aviation is leaving for good after serving at the Buffalo International Airport for over fifty years, according to wivb.com. A Dallas-based company, TAC Air, will replace the brand created by the late aviation pioneer, Jack Prior. In addition to coordinating charter and private aviation, TAC Air will provide de-icing, cargo services, hangar and aircraft handling, fueling, and airline maintenance.
During an airport interview, TAC’s vice president for marketing Tad W. Perryman said, “Having 11,000 general aviation departures every year is pretty good. You look at the sports and business activities in Buffalo, and there is an opportunity.” TAC has plans for major aesthetic upgrades for the hangar facilities and current terminal. Perryman said, “It’s about cleaning up the campus and creating an image of what Buffalo is all about, and modernizing to make this a presentable gateway to the city.” Here’s what it takes to refurbish an airport.
