I just looked it up, and in his career before that point (2 seasons in Chicago, 1 in Buffalo), he was 24-14-6 in 53 games played, with a 2.89 GAA, 0.896 save percentage, and 1 shutout. He was viewed as erratic in net and unreliable as a regular starter.
