STATEMENT FROM FORMER UB BULLS FOOTBALL COACH JEFF QUINN

I am grateful for all the love and support my wife Shannon, two sons Kyle and Ryan, my parents, entire Quinn and Rantis families, our dear friends, and fans have given me during my time leading the University at Buffalo Football Program. We have poured our hearts and souls into this football program and community. Buffalo, New York is a beautiful and proud city. It is a great place to live and the people here are very special. This community has touched us in so many ways and we have made many true and lasting friends.

Five years ago, some very important people chose me to be their Head Football Coach at the University at Buffalo. To Presidents John Simpson and Satish Tripathi, and Directors of Athletics Warde Manuel and Danny White, I am forever grateful to you for affording me the opportunity to build this football program. I gave it everything I had and never once waivered in my approach to build the UB football program the right way. We led this program with integrity, strong moral values, and a passion to win.

As we look forward to the next chapter in our lives, we are reminded of all the incredible accomplishments that we helped bring to Buffalo, including the highest team GPA/APR in program history, the most NFL draft picks of any MAC team in the past five years, a MAC regular season victory record, and the program’s second bowl appearance in program history. We have much to be proud of as we look back on our five years here.

To all of my coaches, staff members, and their families: we love you and wish you peace, health, happiness, and success in all your future endeavors.

To every single student-athlete football player who I had the pleasure of teaching and their families who sacrificed and committed to this great university: I love you all. We strived every day to run the very best program in the MAC and in the country. This small portion of your total life experience has been more than just football. It is about learning to be other-centered, graduating with a degree from one of the best institutions in the country, and competing for championships. UB will always be your place and your team.

Our time here is complete and I wish the University at Buffalo, the Department of Athletics, and this football program nothing but great success.

Thank You and God Bless,
Jeff & Shannon Quinn
