The NCAA basketball tournament games in Buffalo will undoubtedly be a fantastic experience for those in attendance tomorrow and Saturday.
But, as anyone who has attended previous tournament games downtown will tell you, there’s been one major problem– trying to find food and drink during the dreaded downtime between the afternoon and evening sessions.
Problem solved.
A handful of new establishments around the arena have popped up since the tournament’s last Buffalo appearance– including Helium Comedy Club/Elements Sports Bar which will open its doors bright and early at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning.

And if you want your food without the accompaniment of an alcoholic beverage (or a roof)… the food trucks are coming.
Bob Gaughan suggested it on last week’s TB podcast and… boom!
From Business First:
An agreement reached between Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Buffalo Place Inc.will allow area food trucks to operate in and near First Niagara Center during this week’s NCAA men’s regional basketball games. Brown, earlier this week, said it was on his NCAA “wish list” to find a way to allow food trucks to sell their items, especially during the 90-minute break between Thursday’s afternoon and evening sessions.
