About those dumb things, Randall. I’m all for taking a clever shot at something that’s begging to be mocked. Do it all the time. But I’m not impressed with throwing shade at people who are making a go of businesses in an area like Bailey Ave. Over at Smiling Ted’s, for instance, they’re anchoring an otherwise challenged city block and treating the locals fairly (which is why they keep going their for their cars). Yeah, it’s a shame they need barbed wire — but sitting back and calling it dumb is pretty lazy and uninformed. As is the comment about the market, which I imagine you don’t frequent enough to back up your assertion. It’s the lowest form of humor to snark at an easy target. And, it’s not like this particular piece is inspired comedic work, brilliant commentary like “Yep” notwithstanding. There’s no shortage of deserving targets around here. Pick a few of those and, you know, try to be funny.
